Here are some things you can do to look after yourself and others affected
-Keep to your regular sleeping pattern as much as possible.
-Maintain your regular physical exercise pattern. If you don’t have one, there is no better time or place to go for a beautiful walk in the evenings or mornings than the Mary Valley in Autumn.
-Stick to your regular eating patterns.
-Have a good laugh with friends.
-Find time for your favourite hobby or private passion.
-Maintain a broad perspective on life – don’t let the dam issue consume you.
-At the end of each day, write down three things that went well that day. (You will find them). -Look out for friends and neighbours that may need your support.
-Be accepting of support from others and show gratitude for it.
-Seek professional counselling if you feel overwhelmed. This is a positive step, not an admission of defeat.
-Take calm, well considered and positive personal action for yourself, your family and your community. Don’t just let stuff happen to you:- that IS defeat.. |
