Sunday 11th July 11.30am the Opening of the Save the Mary Museum and River Education Centre
Submitted by Committee on Fri, 07/02/2010 - 00:14Invitation to the opening of the Save the Mary Museum and River Education Centre (next to Kandanga Railway Station) on Sunday 11 July at 11.30am with Wildlife Crusader, Bob Irwin as special Guest Speaker.
The Museum will be a tribute to all the people who worked so hard to overturn the decision to dam the Mary River. Visitors are lead around the walls of the building by following a section of the rainbow scarf that was knitted by volunteers during the lengthy campaign (the entire scarf is hundreds of metres long). These walls become a story-board of the campaign from start to finish, packed full of colourful photos and signs, crammed with information. The museum also features a resource area focussed on river education. read more..

Prime Minister says "I've swum in the Mary, I know it's a beautiful place"
Submitted by Downstream on Wed, 11/04/2009 - 12:59On Tuesday, 2 November, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd arrived for a health forum at Hervey Bay hospital and he was greeted by a sea of yellow made up of Greater Mary Association members.
He left the vehicle he arrived in and walked over to our group, shook everyone's hand, received a gift of a "Love, Mary" book, a no dam pen and an "I love Mary" mug and strode away.
It was all over in a flash, but one sentence spoken by the Prime Minister left us pondering it's significance. On receiving the gift, his words were "Don't worry, I've swum in the Mary River, I know it's a beautiful place."

On the letter generator are six totally new letters.
Time is of the essence. We ask you to print them out and post them as soon as you can. Remember that an individualised letter is even better so by all means create your own.
