Had an email from a friend that the funding for Lifeline (at the One Stop Shop) has ceased and they will be replaced by government counsellors. I knew that Ken and Katrina had not renewed their contracts, however had met the new Lifeline representitive last week so am not referring to that. This is apparantly something else again. Does anyone know more? (will ring the One Stop Shop on Monday but wondered if anyone else had heard anything.)

That seems very strange, considering Lifeline was advertising only 2 weeks ago for a counsellor to be appointed in Kandanga. Unfortunately I no longer have the advertisement in my PC. I emailed a friend of mine who I thought would be perfectly suited to the position, then deleted the job offer. The application process only ended in early July. I can't offer anymore than this information Sonya, sorry. I saw the job offer online on at seek.com.au.

Thanks Bronwyn. My friend was enquiring about the job you mention when she was told the information - that they were being cut from the One Stop Shop...so yeah...it is all a bit strange and apparantly sudden.

Had an email from CARMEL BOUCHARD - Lifeline, Kandanga... perhaps she is the new staff member at Kandanga???? or has she been there a while?
I've never been in the shop ... but Ken is the only person I have spoken with down there. |

So sorry guys. I seem to have jumped the gun with this one. Couldn't get hold of One Stop Shop this morning, however Communitity Futures Task Force have assured me that Lifeline will remain at the Kandanga office. According to Lifeline, Maroochydore, there have been funding REDUCTIONS and they no longer can afford an administration person, however the counsellors will remain. Good news, and I apologise for scaring anyone.
