I have questions for the TBBB - others may know the answers already

1. The rules say if we sell now we can lease back the property - that's ok but who pays the rates and upkeep of the property? In a general lease agreement the owner does?? Where does that leave the council if they don't get their rates - in a big budget hole I presume.

2. As above - but if the dam doesn't go ahead we have first right of refusal. Ok- my questions - at what price - what we sold it for? If we sell out now - who can afford to buy back into the area in the future?

3. As above - if we need to add fences and dams (little and useful ones) - does the Gov pay us for them? After all they are the property owners. Or do our leased properties fall into disrepair and eventually become lantana-infested blocks with broken fences and starving thirsty cows.

4. More on the lantana-infested theme - who will keep the dam land free of noxious pests including weeds and ferel animals. Will it be a psudo-National Park for wild dogs and lantana?

4. When will a map with roads to be built be provided - who are islands? Those who think they are safe but still stand to lose.

Any answers or more questions to add

Another:

1. How much notice must we be given if compulsary stealing is decided?

2. What is to stop TBBB changing 2035 to 2015, for example?

car2522,
Your questions show how a dumb dam idea has just got a whole damn dumber!

Nothing at all. Look at the letter received today - http://travestonswamp.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435

The dam wall will be built to full height in stage one - they just promise not to use it all straight away.

By my reckoning there is absolutely nothing to stop the FULL MEGA size dam proceeding at any time, IF they get the federal green light. Dont forget Mr Beattie wants to fast track his idea has soon as possible. The Stage 3ers will not have to wait much longer after the announcement from the Feds to find there letter of resumption in the mail.

I'm sure there's people out there who didn't really give much attention to the letter they got from the Gov today. Some probably assume that Stage 3 are safe for thirty years and that's, that. How wrong they are. What the letter tells us is..and I quote the letter just for those who haven't let it sink in yet...
'Landholders not affected until Stage Two of the project will be able to remain on their properties for up to 20 years. They will be able to do so, again on a discounted rental basis. The rent would be set at 25% of the assessed market rental/lease rate.'
Folks, they are still resuming our properties along with everyone elses, difference is. Stage 1 have five years that they can stay while paying rent and we Stage 3er's have 20years that we can stay and rent. The Gov take our places just as they had planned in the original mega dam. The difference lies in how long we can rent our homes back off them. Stage 1; 5 years before they have to go. Stage 2; 20years.
Beattie didn't tell you all that at the showgrounds did he? Sneaky S.o.B witheld information to dodge an even bigger uproar.

This is what bugged me so much about some of last night's news coverage - several reporters said that the dam was going to be half the original size, as though this was some generous concession that we should all be thankful for. The documents we received yesterday (and again in the mail today), state that approximately 500 properties are required for the construction of stage one, then more than 500 additional properties will be required for the full operating capacity of the dam. Over 1000 in total (compared with the 872 previously announced), and we still don't know if that includes those in the buffer zone, as the buffer zone requirements haven't been worked out yet. Evil or Very Mad

He did tell us, but with the problem of understanding and processing the NEWLY supplied load of steaming pooh, took some time for me let it sink in. The stench has only grown stronger as I awaken even more to it.

Westholme you did not mention anything about the Dam being built to full size straight off, not being done in stages with the wall height raised later if the need arose. Once approval goes ahead they will build the dam then resume all other properties at will.

This only just twigged to me this arvo after I wrote the above post. I was so stunned that he had witheld such important details so that he looked like he was being nice by compromising. (For the cameras). It shook me a bit to discover the wall shall be at full height and to realise he can change the spillway at any time he wants and fill the dam to full capacity.

400 posts and I don't feel a day older than 300, at least. Happy 400 to me. Hmmm, it appears it's your lucky night...I seem to have misplaced my speech.

Things are hotting up for Mickey Rooney down this way. There have been some good blogs and emails on the courier mails web site and the oppositions are ripping into mickey's wounds, this is not over by a long shot.Hang in there you weary band of brothers your friends are growing by the minute and this will have to go national. What i do is to keep finding places to blog and email and incite the alternative facts of killing mary and the fraser passage . We need to source what fat cat companies are behind this and who is trying to get contracts ie where is the cement coming from etc. Labors pet companies will be chomping at the bit over this and there would have been talk months ago. Some big mouth will open up. Dont die yet, You know this is wrong more than anyone. If you browse around many experts and high up people are stepping in and having there say and they are not happy. Some reporters are obviously taking the safe govt spin on things but many others are getting out of line so dont let this die. Stay with the plot and cash in on the rage of mickey's 4 million contribution to big brother and our murdering health system. Seeyou's around.
