| For fear of creating a furore, I continue to support the rights of freedom of speech, and the right of anyone who comes to this forum with whatever ideology of politics OR ideas on solutions to Saving The Mary River OR the stopping of DAM building unneccessarily, they SHOULD have the right to express themselves here without fear of being muted in some way. NOT everyone agrees on ALL ideas or expressions on here, it SHOULD be upto the individual to decide for themselves on how they react to individual ideals. I myself, found Save_Lungfish's (now locked) post, more informative than destructive, but that is just my thought on that post. He/she showed HOW and WHY they become aware of the plight of Mary, and expressed their thoughts on that. Is that really a reason to stifle the voice of supporters? Even though they don't WHOLLY agree with some of the ideology of HOW to halt the DAMMING of MARY????? |

Im a he. My name is Paul. Should have just used that in the first place. I read the latest criticism of people trying to save ALL the rivers and simply tried to show the bigger environmental picture. Those other topics have not been locked. I only jumped in the other night cause I thought the moderators were being unfair and environmentalists and greens were being unfairly attacked. Only the one asking people to consider other people and rivers got locked to silence me. Im not here to argue. Im now here for the environment and to present the broader view on environmental issues. I dont know if you will be effected by the dam but I admire your humanity and willingness to see the bigger environmental picture for queensland. My hats off to you if you are. I just cant imagine being in any of your shoes. |

From where I stand (mainly as an observer of the forum), I think that the balance of complaints from all sides of politics on how the forum is being administered /"censored" (obviously biased for/against the coalition, obviously biased for/against the Greens, obviously biased for/against the independents) is pretty good evidence that the moderators are doing a pretty good job.
Well done to those people who are giving up their time to keep this thing running so well considering the heated emotions that emerge at election time.
If everyone helps by keeping their mind on the issue (Save the Mary River), and showing respect and tolerance for people of differing political persuasions we stand the greatest chance of finding a workable solution.
I myself will be voting for the CANDIDATE that in my eyes has done the most for the Mary River and the people that live in it's catchment. Actions speak louder than words.
Next mission - Peace in the Middle East and unity in Northern Ireland. _________________ "Bad luck ... you dickheads. Suffer in your jocks". (from: the Castle) |
