Landholder vows to maintain dam fight
A woman whose family owns one of south-east Queensland's oldest homesteads says she will not stop fighting plans for a $500 million dam at Boonah.
Kathy Witt's great aunt lives in the century-old Wyaralong homestead and will lose grazing land when the dam is built.
Mrs Witt says 18 landholders will be affected and they will continue lobbying the Government to reconsider.
"We're also not just trying to be all negative and stop the dam, we are trying to get the Government to seriously consider alternatives to dams, given the impending effects of climate change and rainfall variations," she said. _________________ CESARE LOMBROSO "The ignorant man always adores what he cannot understand" |
