This letter from Mr David Bade touches on some of the many problems with the conditions imposed on upstream riparian areas. In particular it highlights the fact that if the dam is built, the most disturbed and unstable aquatic and riparian habitat will be in the transition zones at the tributary inflows to the impounded area (due to fluctuating water levels in the dam) - and this is precisely where much of the focus for establishing offsets for aquatic and riparian habitat destroyed by the dam is being attempted.
