I know that sounds strange with an election looming, but the reality is, this will be a close election and will no doubt come down to smaller parties and Independents being the ones who will decide who will be Government.

Whether it is the Greens, family First, me, or Rae please support the ones who will advocate a NO DAM [policy, not just a "this dam, but not this dam policy". I am sure that I can speak for the Greens because I feel the same.

Ian dont hate me if I am wrong!!! BUT I believe from policy and from what I have read, that both myself and the Greens will ONLY give the purse strings to that Party who will implement a no dam pro recycling policy. With the Nats vowing to continue to "buy out further properteis" this is not a good indication of their policy - why buy out properties when no dam will be built??????

That being said, and I AM NOT A LABOR STOOGE AND AM NOT JOINING THE LABOR PARTY (anyway, they haven't offered me $50,000 like the LIbs did! - so I definately won't be joining them!!!!! (that was supposed to be a joke) Anyway, I think that Beattie, love him or hate him would be the only one who would genuinelly support the NO DAM policy if it meant keeping Government.

THAT IS THE ONLY WAY WE WILL STOP THIS DAM at Traveston.

The answer is simple.

On compassionate grounds.

The Save the Mary River Committee requested this be offered by the Nationals to reduce trauma for people who are in the midst of transactions to leave the Valley. With the Government declaring they would not make any valuations or payouts during the election period some people in negotiations may have lost options on contracts dependant on promised valuations or monies from the government buy back scheme.

Basically this was a compassionate move to assist those currently negotiating. These people do not need further grief whilst already dealing with enough. They did not need the worry either that if the Coalition won they would lose again.

Personally, I will be voting for someone who knows what they are talking about, keeps their finger on the pulse, doesn't change their mind every few weeks and has a clear understanding of politics. Obviously you don't!

BTW, they would have to promise a no dam policy as well. I don't think pig-headed backflip Beattie will backdown on his mega-dam idea!

If the worst thing I have done is change my mind once or twice over nearly six years in this job - I am extremely proud - compare those figures tothose of your preferred party.

Fair is fair......
